The MailChimp Company started out way back 2000 as a web development company known as The Rocket Science Group. They were experts in web-applications for companies such as Coca-Cola, CNN, and Delta Airlines. Then as time went by, the geniuses behind The Rocket Science Group found that people were having trouble with sending out HTML through email. A lot of companies would spend thousands of dollars just to get a very sophisticated yet hard to use software just to be able to send out HTML–rich email. That was when the guys at Rocket Science `built a tool that was so simple that people can use what they need and discard what they didn’t need. That was when they developed the MailChimp.

MailChimp enables you to set-up several varieties of subscriber lists. The program will automatically oversee the sign-ups, the un-subscribers, and emails that bounce back. You can even design your own sign-up forms. MailChimp has built-in tools to help you make HTML email campaigns. You can choose from a variety of templates, headers, and color palettes. And if you have your own design, you can even upload them to the program. The program also tracks and automatically analyzes your email campaign for you. This way you can know where your campaign stands and how to plan your efforts.

MailChimp also has a built-in autoresponder so you can build and pre-schedule your automated messages. It also has list segmentation so that organize your email lists and send to targeted campaigns. MailChimp has a full featured API interface that will allow you to sync your own database an applications to your MailChimp account and vice-versa. It has an integrated RSS to email feature which will automatically send out newsletters whenever you publish. The a/b testing runs tests about every single email campaign that you have. MailChimp also has a smart A.I.M. report which lets you see that statistics of you email campaign, who read what, who did not open which, who clicked which, etc, etc. The emails you send out are email authenticated so they won’t be tagged as spam.

Service and support is well provided by the staff of MailChimp. Their support is open from Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 5pm EST. Weekly they also run a free webinar that deals with everything related to MailChimp, they also have a segment for a Q&A session there. They have demo videos integrated in their applications to help you out quickly on how to use them. They also have a dedicated team for their API support.

MailChimp’s services does not come cheap. It will cost you $10 a month for managing 0-100 email list, $30 a month for 501-2501 subscribers, $50 a month for 2501-5000 subscribers, $75 for 5001-10000 subscribers, $150 for 10001 to 25000 subscribers, and $240 a month for 25000 to 50000 subscriber list. They are more expensive than other similar services out there, but they are definitely the most powerful in the competition.

MailChimp may have a lot of features, but they are really very easy to understand. The service delivers the expectations of the customers or clients. Yes they are quite expensive, but their features their service offer is one of the best and more than speaks for itself. The service has garnered nothing but positive response and praises from the public especially to its users. MailChimp’s reputation is very well established and grounded as big name companies have been dealing with them over the years
