Well ladies and gentlemen of the blog!
We have our first winner.
For anyone who hasn’t already signed up for our competition go to:
Ok, on with it we’d like to congratulate Ian Henman… and I’d like to say something really profound here… but currently… can’t think of anything…
Anyway his answers were good
I’d like to say thank you to everyone who has filled in their details and answered the questions, I’ve replied to all of you I think… remember this competition is drawn from the total pool of responses, so if you have put in your answers there is still the opportunity to win
You guys have really opened our eyes, we thought we were going to have a kick ass membership site, but now we’re going to implement some of the ideas you’ve given us to make it well… more kick ass
Enough babble, onto Ians responses (I’ve kept his personal details hidden for his privacy):
1. What Is The Main Thing You Look For In PLR Articles? : Quality of the
articles, it’s important to me that the content is readable, without spelling
mistakes and proper punctuation.
Our Comment - This is a common theme across virtually all the answers, we’re going to put up a few sample articles in the next few days, so you can see exactly what they will look like, and what you can expect.
If all that is not in check the advantage of having all this wonderful content
really just means more proof reading time for me. I want confidence that I can post
these articles to a website or my blog and make things happen!
Our Comments - Damn Straight!
2. Pick which version you would prefer in a PLR membership site : - 440 Articles
Limit 200 people @ $67 per month
Our Comments - It was quite interesting, it was almost a 50/50 with the 100 people limit, and 200 people limit (only 3 or 4 people chose the 25 people limit).
3. What were the reasons for your selection in question 2: I am in the business
of making money and to make money on the internet there are two key points.
One is too keep required expenses low, and PLR articles are a required expense IMHO,
the second is to play the numbers game, and to play the numbers game you need a
large number of pages indexed in the search engines.
By receiving more articles, I am able to create more pages, therefore at the end of
the day, week, month etc. I have more pages indexed.
The number of people b/w 100 and 200 members doesn’t throw me off that much (i.e.
duplicate content penalties etc.), and the fact that the PLR site will earn more with
the $67 x 200 members then the $97 x 100 members means they have more revenue to
put towards content creation.
Our Comments - This is a great point. Our first priority is to provide a service that is better then anything you can imagine. But I’d be lying if I didn’t also say we weren’t doing this to make money… which we are. What we’d do though, is if we went for 200 members, because we’d make more money out of it, we’d put it back in, in extra content or bonuses or something for the members.
We were more partial to the 100 members, because it gives you guys more exclusive content. I’d like to hear some more opinions on this, if anyone has thoughts; post a comment (even if you didn’t register for the comp).
4. Would you like to be able to have access to multiple memberships at a discount
price? : Yes
Our Comments - WOW! It was a landslide, actually… I need to provide you with accurate statistics instead of saying “95% of people”… so hang on… Ok, 85.29% of people said yes. Something I didn’t expect. This will definitely be included, and the general outline will be that when the first lot of 100 are closed, the next lot will be opened, and anyone who is already a member, will be able to signup for probably around 60-70% of the cost. Don’t worry, each lot of 100 people will get COMPLETELY different articles… not rehashed… reworded, software generated umm, junk, all originally written.
5. If you are currently a member of a PLR site what is the biggest thing they do
wrong (put N/A if you are not a member of another PLR site)? : The current site
doesn’t do this, but leaving the PLR content available for download after a month
is over ticks me off.
I paid a membership fee, and it’s supposed to be 100, 200 some odd members have
access. Leaving the content available means that every month new members that join
when others leave get access to the articles.
Our Comments - We’re very adamant here, you DON’T get any previous articles. When we launch in May, the people that signup in June, won’t have access to the May articles. We respect our members, if you’re loyal to us, we’re loyal to you.
I also dislike having to download articles in WORD format, for me if I\’m auto
posting to one of my blogs or using a WYSIWYG editor I want to post it directly from
a TXT file not a Word File.
Our Comments - We’ll have all articles in .doc, .txt, and .html format. Those were the main ones that people spoke about, and what were are including in the launch. Is there any other format that you’d like to see them in? Within reason
Don’t go telling me you want them in .exe format so that they automatically load, install, and upload to your site… we’ll, maybe that HAHA.
6. If you are currently a member of a PLR site what is the best thing they do right
(put N/A if you are not a member of another PLR site)? : They poll their members
each month to get a feel what topics the members want to receive articles about.
i.e. each month in the private members forum there is 15-30 topics to choose from an
a survey runs for a week or so to determine what next months article packs are
about. This way it reduces the risk of having backlash from members not wanting the
article topics they receive, and it feels more like a community. A big thing to
member retention is having them feel they are a part of the site.
Our Comments - We’ll be doing exactly this, the only difference is, is that the niches that members put forward must adhere to our strict guidelines. If you say you want articles written on the breeding habits of penguins, don’t expect us to release that to our members… unless it’s a market that will bring a decent return. (Did you know that “penguin” gets searched for approximately 105,150 times? Maybe I should keep my mouth shut…) but you get my point. The niches put forth must be worthwhile to be accepted.
7. Would you rather have all your articles at the beginning of the month or spread
out consistently? : Consistently Through The Month
Our Comments - Again, it was about 50/50 (tiny bit more towards consistently through the month), we will be listing the niches, then adding them consistently throughout the month to make it easier to digest, and get the articles out over the month.
8. Quality is obviously of the highest importance when looking at PLR articles, but
what to you determines an articles quality? : 1.) The writing style used, is it
natural, is the punctuation correct, any spelling errors? I don’t want to have to
read through and correct an article I’ve paid for.
Our Comments - Absolutely. Nor would we. So we aren’t going to make you either.
2.) Length of the article, I like to see articles b/w 400-600 words, it’s a good
number for the se’s and “should” provide enough info to a reader to feel it was
worth their time on your page.
Our Comments - Exactly the average size of our articles, 400-600 words
3.) Format, believe it or not I was once a member of a site that had no formatting
to their articles, they weren’t in paragraphs, I had to read through the entire
thing and format it myself…Needless to say I cancelled quite quickly.
Our Comments - No paragraphs = bad writing. Period. Oh, and this won’t happen here (check back for a sample of our article)
4.) Keywords, while I don’t think a PLR site needs to provide exact density for
exact phrases, having articles based loosely around keywords that are relevant and
have demand is ideal. A smart marketer will add a spin on it and possible even
change the keyword the article is targeted at, but having a head start is good.
Our Comments - All our articles will list the target keyword, word count, keyword count, and keyword density, so that if you want to you can increase, or decrease the density if you need to.
9. Would you consider getting a PLR membership if it was close to, or exactly what
you have outlined above? : Yes
Our Comments - Hurray! Guess you’re getting one for free huh?
10. What would be the one thing you would want, or ask for in a PLR membership site
(if it was an ideal world and you could ask for any one thing in a PLR site)? :
This may seem trivial but I’d love to see an on topic header file come with the
articles.
Our Comments - Hmmmmmmmm
I feel my Keyword research is strong so getting a list of 300 words for a niche
isn’t going to help me a lot.
Our Comments - You’ll get them anyway (primary and secondary)
How ever having a header graphic pre-made that suits the nice for me would be the
cats meow. I could then put the site together so MUCH faster…
I know it’s MY wish list but for me personally that’s what I’d like to see. I can
get other images from clipart for the site, but I’m not talented enough to make my
own BLOG and SITE header images.
This would also make it more of a TURNKEY site PLR package rather then articles.
People could utilize the header with WordPress, XSP, Dream weaver what ever their
choice of site builder…
Our Comments - Well, I don’t know what the cats meow is, but I’m guessing it means it would be pretty sweet
We’ll see what we can do.
Well that’s it for today, congrats again to Ian. Oi, check your email, it explains what to do!
Talk to the rest of you soon, and we’ll be picking another one tomorrow.
Wealth and Abundance,
Daniel Turner
P.S. No one picked “I’m the next Allen Says”
I think some of the people who applied COULD have though! It was only meant as a half joke… SOMEONE could have at least picked it… at least for our comical value anyway…
P.P.S. Marcs currently sleeping since he’s been working his ass off on this (no, seriously, he’s spent so much time in front of the computer getting everything right on this he’s starting to whither away!), and I think I might find I’m in for a serving when he wakes up and realizes what I’ve just committed us too. HAHA, I’m glad I could put more work on your plate Marc

Congrats Ian.
I like the idea of the articles not being provided after the end of the month.
While I choose another answer “i’m the next allen says” is also appropriate
Hey Josh,
Yeah, while we were going to do that anyway because it just seemed fair, it was good to have it reaffirmed that we were doing the right thing by our members.
Finally someone will admit they are the next Allen Says
Wealth and Abundance,
Daniel Turner
